The Call of the Wild

Jack London's The Call of the Wild tells Resources the story of Buck, a dog who is kidnapped from his peaceful home in the Santa Clara Valley in California and sold to become a sled dog during the height of the Klondike gold rush. Buck's life alters dramatically as he is forced into the harsh world of the Alaskan wilderness and the Yukon Territory. He is torn between his life as a domesticated dog and his yearnings to become more like his wild wolf ancestors. Buck's kidnapping causes his life to be changed forever.
